Obverse description Quartered heraldic shield displaying the impaled arms of Mainz (argent, a wheel gules) and Isenburg (barry of six), surmounted by a floriated cross pattée dividing the shield into four quadrants. The escutcheon is set within a beaded inner circle, with a Gothic circular legend in the outer field. The overall composition reflects the late medieval heraldic convention of combining ecclesiastical and personal arms of the issuing archbishop.
