Obverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Martin of Tours, vested as a bishop in flowing liturgical robes, holding a crozier in his left hand and raising his right hand in benediction; a small cross appears at his feet in the lower field. The figure is set within a beaded inner circle, with a Gothic uncial legend reading IOhIS AREPVS MAGVT encircling the field between the inner and outer rims, referencing Archbishop John (Johannes) of Mainz. The hammered flan displays characteristic irregular surfaces consistent with late 14th-century Rhine-region goldgulden production.

Reverse description Four heraldic shields arranged in a quatrefoil composition within a beaded inner circle: at top the wheel of Mainz, at left and right the cross of the Teutonic Order (or similar ecclesiastical cross), and at bottom the lion of Nassau, reflecting the combined arms of Archbishop John II of Nassau. The shields are separated by small decorative rosettes or trefoils. The surrounding Gothic uncial legend reads + MOnETA OPIDI In hOIESTEn, identifying this as the coinage of the town of Höchst. The overall design follows the standard Rhenish goldgulden format established by the Electoral Mint Convention.
