| Obverse description | Quartered shield of arms of the Archbishopric of Trier, impaled with the personal arms of Archbishop Johann II of Baden, set upon a long cross whose arms extend to the inner legend border. The composite shield displays the Trier cross quarterly with the Baden bend, rendered in fine Gothic style. A Gothic uncial legend surrounds the design within a beaded inner circle, with the archbishop's abbreviated name and title. |
