| Obverse description | Saint George depicted as a mounted knight in armour, rearing on horseback over a vanquished dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves, the saint raising a sword in his right hand. The figure is rendered in a Gothic hammered style typical of early sixteenth-century Rhenish goldgulden.
