Obverse description Saint George depicted as a mounted knight in armour, rearing on horseback over a vanquished dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves, the saint raising a sword in his right hand. The figure is rendered in a Gothic hammered style typical of early sixteenth-century Rhenish goldgulden. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the abbreviated legend referencing Saint George and Gronsveld distributed around the periphery. The coin bears a suspension hole pierced near the upper right rim, indicating former use as a pendant or personal adornment.
