Obverse description Full-length figure of Saint John the Baptist standing facing in the field, his right hand raised in benediction and his left hand holding a cross-tipped scepter. The saint is rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of Rhenish goldgulden of the late 14th century. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central figure along the coin's periphery.
