Additional information

Frederick III issued this gulden during the final months of his reign — he died in August 1493 — at a period when Frisian monetary affairs were deeply entangled with Habsburg consolidation of the Low Countries. The Franeker mint in Friesland operated under fragile and contested authority; the region had resisted centralized control for decades, and its minting rights were a recurring point of friction between local lords and imperial administration.

Delmonte G#1032 is among the scarcer Frisian gold attributions in the series. Production at Franeker was intermittent at best.
