Obverse description Quartered coat of arms combining the arms of Mainz (the wheel) and the personal arms of Archbishop Daniel Brendel von Homburg, displayed on a crowned shield in the center of the field. Three crested helmets rise above the shield, each surmounted by elaborate mantling and heraldic crests, arranged in typical late Renaissance German ecclesiastical style. The circular legend surrounding the design reads in Latin abbreviation, identifying the issuer as Daniel, by the grace of God, Archbishop of Mainz and Prince-Elector.
