| Obverse description | The central field displays the ornate crowned coat of arms of Waldeck, featuring the distinctive star and eagle elements of the county's heraldry, surrounded by elaborate foliate and oak branch decoration. An ornate crested helmet surmounts the shield, rendered in the elaborate late-Renaissance style typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage. The entire device is enclosed within a rope-beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running in the outer margin between the beaded border and the milled edge. |
