Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Prince-Bishop Charles Philip of Greiffenklau-Vollraths, shown in elaborate clerical vestments with a richly detailed lace cravat and episcopal robes, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The hair is long and curled in the fashion of the period, falling onto the shoulders. The circular Latin legend runs along the inner border of the reeded edge, reading CAROLUS PHILIPP D G WIRC S R I PR FR OR DUX, identifying the issuer as ruler of Würzburg and Prince of the Holy Roman Empire. The field is smooth and the portrait occupies the majority of the coin's face.
