| Obverse description | Quartered heraldic shield displaying the four-fold arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz, incorporating the crosses of Mainz, the wheel of Mainz, a crowned helm, and additional armorial quarterings, set within an ornate trefoil frame. Three additional smaller coats of arms occupy the spandrels at the corners of the trefoil. The composition is rendered in the late Gothic hammered style characteristic of Rhenish goldgulden of the period. The circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, partially visible at the coin's periphery. |

| Reverse description | Christ enthroned in Majesty, shown full-length and facing front, seated upon an elaborate Gothic throne with armrests, His right hand raised in benediction and left hand holding a globus cruciger. The figure is rendered in the characteristic Rhenish late-medieval style, with fine drapery detail. Immediately below the throne, the wheel of Mainz serves as an armorial device. The date 1501 is incorporated into the surrounding circular Latin legend, which runs along the coin's periphery. |
