Reverse description Full-length facing figure of St. John the Baptist, depicted in flowing robes, with the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) presented on a book held before him, consistent with standard late medieval Saxon goldgulden iconography. At his feet appear the quartered arms of ducal Saxony. The legend in Gothic uncial script, divided by a stop and dash, identifies the coin as a gold piece of Leipzig, running between the inner and outer beaded borders.
