Obverse description Central quartered shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms — the upper-left and lower-right quarters showing diagonal hatching (Swabia/Zollern), the remaining quarters plain — struck within a square punch impression on a roughly irregular flan. The initials A·M·Z·B (Albrecht Markgraf zu Brandenburg) are disposed above the shield, flanking the central charge, with the split date 15–53 appearing to either side of the shield's lower half. Two small cross ornaments flank the base of the shield in the field.
