Reverse description The ducal arms of Mecklenburg displayed on a quartered shield, supported by two wild men (savages) as heraldic supporters flanking the escutcheon. Above the shield rises an elaborate arrangement of three crested helmets with ornate mantling and heraldic beasts as crests, rendered in fine detail. The whole composition fills the coin's field, with the surrounding Latin legend MEGA POLENSIS incorporating the date numerals 1 5 (completing the year when combined with the obverse or reverse context). A beaded inner circle frames the armorial design.
