| Obverse description | Central small oval shield bearing the arms of Halberstadt, surmounted by an elaborately crested helm with scrollwork mantling flanking both sides of the shield. The entire achievement is rendered in the late Renaissance heraldic style typical of early seventeenth-century German municipal coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the arms, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery between dot stops. |

| Reverse description | Full-length figure of Saint Stephen, patron protomartyr, standing facing, vested in ecclesiastical robes and holding a palm frond of martyrdom in his right hand and a book in his left; the date 16-33 is divided to either side of the figure in the field. The saint is depicted with a crown or nimbus above his head, consistent with his veneration as the first Christian martyr. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central device, with the Latin legend running around the periphery between dot stops. |
