| Obverse description | Five heraldic shields of arms arranged in a quatrefoil pattern within a beaded inner circle. The central shield displays the arms of Cologne — three crowns on a field of ermine — flanked by four lobed cartouches each bearing subsidiary civic or ecclesiastical arms, including crosses and lozenge patterns. The date 1567 appears in the legend distributed around the outer field. The circular Latin legend is divided by the lobes of the quatrefoil, reading MON AVR REN. The flan exhibits typical hammered irregularity with well-struck heraldic detail. |

| Reverse description | Imperial double-headed eagle displayed with spread wings, each head crowned separately beneath an overarching imperial crown at the top of the field. On the breast of the eagle is a circular orb bearing a cross, serving as the imperial insignia. The eagle is rendered in bold hammered relief with detailed feathering on the wings and visible talons at the base. The surrounding Latin legend, interrupted by beaded borders, references Emperor Maximilian II and reads MAXI II ROM IMP SEM AVG. |
