| Obverse description | Three-quarter bust of Charles V facing slightly right, depicted crowned and armored, with a sword raised in the right hand and an imperial orb held in the left. The effigy is rendered in the elaborate Renaissance style characteristic of Habsburg imperial portraiture. The encircling Latin legend names Charles as Holy Roman Emperor and King of Spain, interrupted by the mintmark at the conclusion of the inscription. The overall composition reflects the majesty and authority of the Habsburg dynasty. |
