Obverse description Enthroned three-quarter facing effigy of Duke Philip the Good, depicted within an elaborate Gothic architectural stall. The duke is shown full-length, holding an upright sword in his right hand as a symbol of sovereign authority, while his left hand rests upon a shield bearing the arms of Burgundy. The composition is rendered in the characteristic Gothic style of the Burgundian Netherlands, with fine architectural canopy detail framing the ducal figure. The peripheral legend runs along the coin's outer border in Latin uncial characters.
