Reverse description The reverse depicts a kneeling figure of Pope Pius V in full pontifical vestments, shown in three-quarter view facing left with hands raised in an attitude of prayer or supplication. To the left of the figure stands a tall processional cross, and below it the papal tiara and keys are visible as a secondary heraldic device. The scene is enclosed within an inner border, with the mint name FANO appearing in the lower exergual area. The circumferential legend * IN * TE * DOMINE * SPERAVI * * FANO * encircles the design in Latin capitals separated by star stops, referencing Psalm 31 and identifying the Fano mint.
