| Obverse description | Central field displays the heraldic arms of Cardinal Paluzzo Paluzzi Altieri degli Albertoni, consisting of a quartered shield charged with six-pointed stars arranged in an orle, surmounted by a patriarchal cross and encircled by a rosary. Above the shield, the crossed keys of Saint Peter are displayed in saltire, and above these rests the papal umbraculum (baldachin), rendered in fine detail with radiating ribs and a tiered canopy — the traditional symbol of Sede Vacante authority. The circular legend in Latin reads SEDE * VACAN TE * MDCLXXVI, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border. |
