Obverse description Central field occupied by the elaborate papal coat of arms of Clement XIII, rendered on an oval escutcheon displaying the Rezzonico family quartered arms featuring towers and diagonal bands, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter, the whole supported by ornate baroque scrollwork. The legend CLEM·XIII PONT·M·A·V runs around the periphery, denoting Clement XIII as Supreme Pontiff in his fifth regnal year. The design is rendered in fine milled relief with crisp detail throughout the heraldic elements. The coin's reeded edge is visible at the periphery, consistent with the milled production technique of the Roman mint.

Reverse description The reverse features a five-line Latin inscription OBLECTAT / IVSTOS / MISERICOR / DIA occupying the central field, meaning 'His mercy gladdens the righteous,' enclosed within a finely engraved laurel wreath that encircles the entire design. The date is divided at the base of the inscription, with '17' to the left and '63' to the right of a small papal arms device showing the tiara and crossed keys. The lettering is bold and well-spaced in the classical Roman epigraphic style typical of papal coinage of the period.
