Reverse description Crowned half-length facing figure of the Madonna and Child (Virgin Mary) is depicted in the central field within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the devotional style common to Hungarian and Transylvanian groschen of the period. The Virgin wears a crown and is shown with the Christ Child before her. The mint date appears in the legend at the top of the field, flanked by the circular Latin inscription running around the periphery. The reverse legend references Bethlen's titles as Count of the Székelys and Duke of Opole and Ratibor.
