Obverse description Central field features the Hungarian arms — a quartered shield displaying the Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross — enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The mintmark 'NB' (for Nagybánya) appears flanking the shield at the base. The surrounding legend, rendered in Latin capital letters, reads GAB. D. G. R. HVN. PR. TRAN. ET. SIC. CO., abbreviating Gábor Bethlen's full princely titles. The overall design is characteristic of the hammered small silver coinage of early 17th-century Transylvania.
