Obverse description Crudely hammered copper flan bearing a two-line Arabic inscription in the field, reading 'Al-Sultan / Mahmud Shah' in a bold, irregular Naskh-influenced script. The lettering occupies the majority of the obverse field, with no border or decorative framing visible. The surfaces show typical characteristics of hand-struck medieval Deccan coinage, including uneven flan edges and variable strike depth. The coin exhibits heavy wear and surface porosity consistent with prolonged circulation.
