Obverse description Right-facing armored bust of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) of Prussia, depicted in high relief with elaborately curled hair and richly draped mantle with detailed armor visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the Baroque court portrait style, with fine engraving of the lace cravat and pauldron. The encircling Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX, divided by the bust, and is set within a beaded border characteristic of Berlin Mint gold coinage of this period.
