Obverse description Central field dominated by a large interlaced five-pointed star (Seal of Solomon), rendered in bold relief with decorative floral arabesques filling the angles between the points. The Arabic legend reading 'الدولة المغربية' (Al-Dawla Al-Maghribiyya, 'The Moroccan State') curves along the upper periphery, flanked by small decorative dots. The bilingual peripheral legend continues with 'EMPIRE CHERIFIEN' arcing along the left and right borders in Latin characters, while 'المغرب' (Al-Maghrib) and 'MAROC' appear at the lower periphery in Arabic and Latin respectively, separated by dots. The design reflects the Franco-Moroccan artistic style characteristic of the Monnaie de Paris issues of the Cherifian Empire.
