Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Louis-Philippe I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair tied with a ribbon at the nape. The surrounding legend reads LOUIS PHILIPPE I ROI DES FRANÇAIS, disposed along the inner border of the coin's milled edge. The engraver's signature DOMARD F. appears in small capitals at the base of the bust, just above the lower beaded border. The portrait reflects the neoclassical style prevalent in French coinage of the July Monarchy period.
