Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King Leopold I facing left, rendered in high relief with fine naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The engraver's signature L. WIENER appears in small letters on the truncation below the portrait. The encircling legend reads LEOPOLD PREMIER ROI DES BELGES, divided with LEOPOLD PREMIER arching along the left and ROI DES BELGES along the right. The field is smooth and mirror-like, framed by a toothed border.
