Reverse description Central field bears the ornate interlaced royal cypher of Grand Duchess Charlotte — formed by the intertwined letters 'Ch' — surrounded by a decorative scroll device and surmounted by a grand ducal crown. The numeral '1' appears to the left of the monogram and the denomination indicator 'F' to the right, together denoting one franc. A decorative sprig of rose branches with blooms and buds graces the lower field, flanking the engraver's initials 'A.B.' at the base. The overall design is elegant and heraldic, consistent with the 'small type' classification distinguishing it from earlier larger-format issues.
