Obverse description Central field bears the crowned royal cypher of Grand Duchess Charlotte (1896–1985), formed by the interlaced monogram 'CH' beneath a ducal crown. The monogram is flanked on either side by sprays of rose branches. The circular legend at the top reads LUXEMBOURG, bounded by two pellets, with the engraver's name BONNETAIN inscribed below. The overall design is rendered in a clean, relief style characteristic of early twentieth-century continental coinage.
