| Obverse description | Printed in purple on cream paper, the note is framed by a decorative foliate border with a fine guilloche outer band. To the left, a detailed architectural vignette of the Hôtel de Ville of Caen; to the right, a view of the old market square of Honfleur with its characteristic half-timbered buildings and church steeple. The large numeral "1" occupies the centre, surmounted by a circular blue validation stamp bearing the arms of the two chambers, with the denomination "UN FRANC" below. Two crossed heraldic shields appear at the foot of the central panel, flanked by facsimile signatures of the Presidents of each Chamber, with series and serial number printed in the lower corners. |
