| Obverse description | Red letterpress design on cream paper, with the issuer's title CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DU MANS in an arc across the upper field, flanked by two heraldic shield vignettes — the civic arms of Le Mans at left and a caduceus-and-wreath emblem at right — all set within ornate Art Nouveau scrollwork borders. The large numeral 1 and the word FRANC appear in the centre, below the serial number, with the titles Le Trésorier and Le Président above their respective manuscript facsimile signatures. The date 1er MARS 1917 is inscribed in a cartouche at the foot of the note. |
