| Obverse description | Green letterpress note with a central oval vignette bearing the large denomination text «UN FRANC» over a guilloche underprint, flanked by two allegorical figures: a male industrial worker at left and a draped female figure at right, both rendered in detailed intaglio style. The issuer's title «CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE ST-ETIENNE» runs along the upper border, while the lower margin carries a ribbon bearing the names of regional industries — Houillères, Métallurgie, Armurerie, Soieries, Lacets, Verrerie — above the city's heraldic shield. Two manuscript signatures of the Président and Trésorier appear within the oval, with the six-digit serial number printed below in black. |
