| Obverse description | Ornate frame encloses the central composition, with the issuer's name forming the lower baseline. To the left, an allegorical vignette of Commerce is personified as a draped standing female figure holding a rudder in her right hand and an account book resting on a cornucopia in her left; to the right, Industry is similarly personified as a draped standing female figure, her right hand resting a hammer upon an anvil. Printed denomination, series, and serial number appear in the central field alongside the signatures of the Treasurer and President. |
