| Obverse description | Printed in red and dark blue on cream paper, the obverse carries a central oval cartouche with the municipal arms of Châteauroux enclosed within a laurel wreath vignette at the top centre. The denomination UN FRANC is set in bold letterpress across the middle of the note, with the issuer's name CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE CHATEAUROUX above and the date 2 Décembre 1918 to the upper left. Two manuscript facsimile signatures of the Trésorier and the Président appear in the lower portion, flanked by decorative corner devices bearing the value numeral 1, with the printer's imprint of Imp. Badel, Châteauroux along the bottom edge. |

An ornate dark blue border of interlocking geometric and floral motifs frames the entire composition. |
