The Glorioso Islands are an uninhabited French territory in the Mozambique Channel, administered under the French Southern and Antarctic Lands since 2007. France and Madagascar have disputed sovereignty over the archipelago for decades, with Madagascar's claim formally unrecognized but never fully dropped. A coin issue from this territory in 2024 is almost certainly a fantasy or exonumia piece — no circulating monetary system exists there, and no resident population would use it.
