| Obverse description | Plain cream paper note with a red letterpress-printed decorative border of stylised foliate and scroll motifs framing the entire face. The denomination "UN FRANC" appears in white reversed-out lettering within a solid black rectangular panel at centre, flanked by ornamental typographic devices. The issuer heading "COMMUNE DE RUMILLIES / BELGIQUE - HAINAUT" is set at the top, with the series and serial number printed above the denomination panel and the guarantee and council-approval text printed below it. Two manuscript signatures of the Secretary and the Burgomaster appear at the lower portion, with the date 3 November 1914 between them; the printer's imprint is in small type at the foot. |
