Obverse description Typeset letterpress note printed in black on a gray underprint, enclosed within a double-rule rectangular border. The authority titles GUADELOUPE ET DÉPENDANCES and TRÉSOR COLONIAL are set in capitals at the head of the note, followed by the decree date in parentheses, with the denomination UN FRANC in large bold type at centre. A serial number is positioned below the denomination, with manuscript signature lines at the foot for the Governor's delegate, the Director of the General Secretariat, and the Trésorier Payeur.
Obverse lettering GUADELOUPE ET DÉPENDANCES TRÉSOR COLONIAL (Décret du 18 Août 1884) UN FRANC Le contre-valeur en espèces est déposée au Trésor.
