| Reverse description | Frontal nimbed figure of a bishop or saint, depicted in ecclesiastical vestments with a halo, raising the right hand in benediction and holding a closed book or Gospel in the left, consistent with a representation of the patron saint of Scutari. The figure is rendered in a hieratic, Byzantine-influenced style typical of medieval Albanian hammered coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the image within a beaded border, reading STEFANVS SCUTARENSIS, identifying the mint city of Scutari (Shkodër). The field exhibits characteristic surface irregularities resulting from the hand-hammered striking method. |
