| Obverse description | Frontal standing figure of Saint Tryphon, patron saint of Cattaro, depicted in bishop's vestments with arms slightly extended; the figure is rendered in a crude, archaic style characteristic of medieval Adriatic coinage. The legend CATARI CIVITAS is divided across the field, flanking the central effigy. The flat, irregular flan exhibits extensive green patination consistent with long burial or circulation wear. |

| Obverse lettering | CATARI - CIVITAS |
| Reverse description | Frontal standing figure of Saint Tryphon rendered in a stylized, hieratic manner typical of Romanesque-Byzantine influenced coinage of the Adriatic region; the saint is depicted holding attributes in both hands, the design executed with bold but rudimentary engraving. The divided legend SANTVS TRIFON appears in the field on either side of the figure. The surface displays heavy green and brown patination with die wear consistent with hammered copper coinage of the medieval period. |
