| Obverse description | Frontal standing figure of Saint Tryphon, patron saint of Cattaro, depicted in bishop's vestments with arms slightly extended; the figure is rendered in a crude, archaic style characteristic of medieval Adriatic coinage. The legend CATARI CIVITAS is divided across the field, flanking the central effigy. The flat, irregular flan exhibits extensive green patination consistent with long burial or circulation wear. |
