Obverse description Central field depicts a standing frontal figure of Johannes (John), rendered in a hieratic medieval style typical of late 14th-century Adriatic civic coinage. The figure appears robed and holds attributes consistent with ecclesiastical or civic iconography. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading IOHA - NES - B, identifying the issuing authority. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with characteristic uneven edges and natural patination from copper oxidation. The overall die work is bold but somewhat crude, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of the period.
