Obverse description Central field depicts a stylized eagle displayed, rendered in a crude medieval hammered style with wings spread. A dotted inner border frames the design, encircled by a partial Latin legend reading J. cDAŊ·-·TIVAR·, referencing the civic authority of Antivari. The lettering is arranged around the periphery in an irregular fashion characteristic of medieval municipal coinage. The overall style reflects the primitive engraving traditions of 14th-century Dalmatian civic mints.
