| Obverse description | Crowned and draped right-facing effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail by Percy Metcalfe. The king wears an imperial crown and ermine-trimmed robes, with a beard rendered in precise detail. The legend GEORGE V KING EMPEROR arcs around the periphery, divided left and right of the portrait. The field is flat and unadorned, allowing the bold royal effigy to dominate the composition. |
