Obverse description The obverse features a truncated, crowned and robed effigy of King George V facing left, modeled in moderate relief within a beaded inner border. The king is depicted wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state, with his beard and facial features rendered with fine detail. The circular Latin legend reads GEORGIVS V D:G: BRITT: OMN: REX F.D.IND:IMP:, distributed around the periphery and separated by stops. The portrait is a shortened version of the standard coinage effigy used on British Commonwealth issues of the period.
