Obverse description Uncrowned, bearded effigy of Gábor Bethlen in armored and mantled bust right, wearing an ornate high ruffled collar with decorative armor visible at the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief hammered style characteristic of early 17th-century Transylvanian gold coinage. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the bust within a beaded border.

Reverse description The enthroned Madonna, crowned and nimbed, seated facing on a crescent moon, holding a long scepter in her right hand and the Holy Infant Jesus in her left arm. The Infant raises his right hand in blessing. Below the central device, the mint mark letters N and B appear flanking the figure, with a small Hungarian shield in the exergue. The date appears at the left of the field. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the design within a beaded border.
