Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of King Edward VII, depicted with a short beard and wearing imperial robes with an elaborate jewelled collar; the king is shown in high relief with fine portrait detail attributed to engraver G.W. de Saulles, whose initials appear below the truncation. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the effigy by a plain field, and the coin is bordered by a continuous beaded inner circle.
