Christiania — the self-declared autonomous district occupying a former military barracks in Copenhagen since 1971 — has issued its own internal currency for decades, used within the community's collectively run businesses and markets. The "Fed" denomination circulates alongside Danish kroner but holds no legal tender status outside the district's boundaries. This 2019 silver strike is almost certainly a collectors' piece rather than a circulation issue; .999 silver at this weight has never been everyday pocket money.
