| Obverse description | A draped female figure, personifying Industry or Commerce, is depicted seated facing left in the central field, resting upon a rocky outcrop. She holds aloft in her raised right hand a large hammer or mallet, emblematic of Birmingham's metalworking trades, while her left arm extends forward. The circular legend COPPER COMPANY arcs around the upper periphery, and the date 1791 appears in the lower exergue. The coin is framed by a reeded border, and the design is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of Soho Mint production. |
