| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of the young Queen Victoria facing left, engraved in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back and gathered in a chignon at the nape of the neck, after William Wyon's celebrated portrait. The truncation of the neck is unadorned. The encircling legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA runs along the periphery, and the date appears in the exergue below the bust. The field is smooth and the coin is framed by a toothed border. |

The circumferential Latin motto STABIT QVOCVNQVE IECERIS encircles the device, separated by stops, all contained within a toothed border. The open field surrounding the triskelion is plain. |
