Reverse description A beaver is depicted in right profile, seated upright on a naturalistic ground of branches and aquatic vegetation, its characteristic broad flat tail visible behind it and its forepaws raised toward its muzzle. The legend THE BEAVER arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1801 appears in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed (dentilated) border.
