Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King James II facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair and armoured shoulders partially visible beneath the drapery. The copper plug is visible at the centre of the field, characteristic of this bimetallic tin farthing issue. The Latin legend IACOBVS SECVNDVS curves around the periphery, reading from lower left to upper right, within a beaded border. The portrait, engraved by Henry Harris, displays a refined Baroque style consistent with late 17th-century English coinage.
